Flying Musicians to Entertain and Educate

Members of the Flying Musicians Association (FMA) will perform daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Show Center Tent. They also will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily to talk about FMA programs and scholarship opportunities, to swap aviation/music stories, and for impromptu music sessions.

John Zapp, co-founder and President of FMA, said, “The opportunity to reach out to fellow musicians, whether pilots or not, to inspire, educate, and encourage folks to follow their passion in music and flight is fantastic! We are thrilled to participate in this inaugural event.”

Each year, FMA awards a scholarship to a high school junior and senior who is in his/her school band and has a desire to fly. The winner will receive funding, materials, and support toward soloing an aircraft. Nominations must be received from their band director. Learn more at www.flyingmusicians.org.
